Luxury Camping at Baileys
Still Marvelous After All These Years!

A century ago Luxury Camping was a big part of Bailey’s Palomar Resort, and today we proudly carry on the family tradition of hospitality under the trees – “new millennia” style!

We have designed our new Luxury Campsites to maximize your outdoor adventure, which begins the moment you arrive.  We have just about everything you will need for your quality outdoor experience – you just bring your provisions AND your spirit of adventure!

About Luxury Camp Kestrel

An Upscale Camping Adventure on remote Cherry Point – where the trail ends and the natural environment begins!

Quiet and very private, LuxCamp Kestrel sits at the extreme western edge of our 60 acre heritage property - at perhaps the most picturesque spot on our place.

Kestrel has two large tents which sleep up to (6) persons overall.  The spacious and well appointed, canvas Safari Tent has a comfy double bed and fresh linens throughout.  Inside there’s also private nook with table and seating for two – traditionally used to partake in the private dawn meal - or update one's journal at day's end.

The Safari Tent’s canvas-fold front draws back to reveal a private and spacious wooden deck with a lovely sitting area – tree-shaded by day, torch-lit by torch night.  There you overlook the undisturbed forest, arching downward toward great-grandfather’s Cold Spring canyon far below.  

For additional members of your expedition, we offer a modern, two-bedroom-two-door Hunting Tent with a comfortable double-bed air-mattress in each wing - separated by removable fabric divider.  The Hunting Tent sleeps up to (4) more persons.

Just off the main deck is Kestrel’s outdoor camp kitchen boasting the classic porcelain counter-sink combo that hails from the golden days of our destination resort here at Baileys.  The cook station has both a propane cook top and griddle ready to go.  And, for those who prefer charcoal, there is a classic Webber BBQ complete with charcoal and starter fluid.

Adjacent to the camp kitchen is an outdoor awing with shear draw-screen curtains sheltering a large picnic table – perfect for that "al fresco" dining experience.  And, but a few steps away is the central camp fire drum and bench surround area – a must for that evening of conversation, relaxation, reflection and fun!

There is a shower-house with flush toilet, sink and shower just  a short stroll away.

Other extras include cooking utensils and dining ware, a large cooler of fresh ice, games & books, horseshoes, bocci ball, fishing poles, all your fuel and firewood.

PLUS we provide you with the finest drinking water on the planet - piped fresh from our nearby artesian springs right to camp!

Just like the old days, our Luxury campsite season runs from Mid-May through Mid-October each year.  Rental Rates are based on the number of persons in your party and the duration of your stay.
