Welcome to
Bailey's Oak Cottage
Our Two Bedroom
"Haven Among the Trees"
This lovingly restored, century
old cottage is nestled under a canopy of ancient oak trees, across the valley
and within our
60 acre gated family owned legacy resort.
With rustic elegance the
Old Oak Cottage invites you through the original hand-hewn doorway and into the
spacious main floor within.
Here a bright and airy living space
and sitting area is complemented with an adjoining, and wonderful hand-made stone fireplace.
It
has welcomed and warmed
countless travelers over the decades.
The
seasoned hearth was constructed from the native stone nearby,
and joined with mortar
mixed by a craftsman's skilled and caring hand long, long ago.
Always a favorite,
the venerable rocking
chair seems to encourage a fireside chat or good book enjoyed in quiet comfort
and contemplation.
Directly
across from the fireplace is the master bedroom - a curtain providing privacy as
was the quaint custom back in the day.
From the double bed you can enjoy watching the fire crackle
and burn late into the evening.
Moving
upstairs, the sky room loft offers another living space with a double bed built right into the room.
A marvelous
sitting area with a couch
and great picture windows offers you an unconstructive view of the deep forest
beyond - providing privacy,
inspiration and
contemplation.
Oak cottage has a well appointed kitchen with
stove, refrigerator, coffer maker, microwave, basic cooking accoutrements,
sliverware and place settings for everyone in your party.
And you'll find that everywhere
in Oak Cottage are those little extras.
You'll sense the special
care that has been given to the appointments within this truly unique and historic
heritage cottage - and an
environment unsurpassed in southern
California.
Many of the
items - and all of the photos - you find here hail back to when Oak Cottage sheltered
our seasonal resort staff.
These were the
folks that made Bailey's the premier destination resort at the turn of the last
century!
All your lineans
are provided and include high
quality bedding and
down comforters on both double beds. Oak Cottage also has a TV, VCR
/ DVD, CD player, games, and books.
Out
front ,
Oak
Cottage has a spacious sitting area, including a fire drum and propane BBQ.
The front deck has a picnic table and chairs set up to
relax and enjoy the scenery.
You are welcomed to partake in a game of
horseshoes bocce ball nearby. Don't forget to bring
fixings for your s'mores - and enjoy
