Youth & Group Camping

Welcome to Palomar Unplugged!

Originally called “Campo Contento” – Bailey’s 60 acre resort has been hosting campers for over a century now, and our family tradition of a quality outdoor experience carries on to this day.  We offer a traditional camping experience in a wonderfully natural mountain top environment.

Our group campsites are open to friends, clubs, churches, scouts, and any gathering of outdoor enthusiasts that are looking for a private, gated, safe, quiet and comfortable nature experience.

Baileys Group Camp is nestled under a hundred foot forest canopy of mixed conifers and hardwoods on the edge of our lower meadow and fish pond.  A central fire pit ringed by split log benches is guarded over by our traditional totem pole “Big Dan” – and makes a great gathering spot for your group of friends.

Nearby are flush toilets, cold water showers, and individual campsites each with its own table and fire pit - plus the camp is supplied with the finest drinking water on the planet!

A number of our Historical Cottages and Luxury Campsites are just a short walk away from the group camp sites, and across the valley is Bailey House (formally Palomar Hotel), and our historic Dance Hall and General store - now our private museum.  Combined with our outdoor wedding venue, our group camp is a world class, mountain top destination gathering place unmatched in SoCal!

Unlike public campgrounds, Baileys is private, and family owned and operated.  We caterer to like-minded, family oriented groups and maintain a quiet and respectful environment for all our guests.  There are no “drop-in” users, and advance reservations are required.  We are doggie friendly (leash at all times, please).

Sorry, we are not equipped for large RVs and have no hookups.  No stereos are permitted – but we do welcome acoustical music of all stripes!

Our traditional group camp sites are open from May through October each year, and we can take reservations up to two years in advance. We would be happy to with meet by appointment (no drop-ins please) to tour our facility and talk with you about hosting your group campout.
