Luxury Camp Kestrel

An Upscale Camping Adventure located back on our remote

Cherry Point overlooking Cold Spring Canyon – where the trail ends and Nature's world begins!

Quiet and very private, LuxCamp Kestrel sits at the extreme western edge of our 60 acre heritage property - at perhaps the most picturesque spot on our place.

Kestrel can accommodate up to (6) persons overall.  The spacious and well appointed canvas Safari Tent sleeps up to (2) persons.   

For additional members of your expedition, you may request two of our camping cots - or pitch you own tents for an additional fee (BYO bedding).

Kestrels spacious Safari Tent sits on a large, split level tent with a wonderful view of the forest and canyon below.  

Inside, it has with a comfy Queen bed  with quilt, throws, fresh bedding and linens provided.  Plus there’s a nook with table and seating for two – traditionally used to partake in the private dawn meal - or update one's journal at day's end.

Kestrel's Safari Tent’s canvas-fold front draws back to reveal a private and spacious wooden deck with a lovely sitting area – tree shaded by day, torch-lit by night.  There you overlook the undisturbed forest, arching downward toward great-grandfather’s Cold Spring canyon far below.

Just off the main deck is Lux Camp Kestrel’s outdoor kitchen boasting the classic porcelain counter-sink combo that hails from the golden days of our destination resort here at Baileys. The cook station has both a large two burner propane cook top and griddle ready to go.

There is your basic cookware, percolator coffee pot, tableware for (4) persons AND the finest drinking water on the planet - piped fresh from our nearby artesian springs right to camp!

Adjacent to the camp kitchen is an outdoor awing with shear draw-screen curtains sheltering a large picnic table – perfect for that "al fresco" dining experience.

A few steps away is Kestrel’s central camp fire and bench surround area – a must for that evening of conversation, relaxation, reflection and fun!

Kestrel has a private 3-bay shower house, hot water, a vanity sink, and flush toilet, stocked with TP & paper towels.

There are books, games, a horseshoe pit and more. A short walk away is our fish pond (catch and release please) and hiking trails throughout our 60 acres of cool forest and rich meadow.

Your propane and firewood are complementary and provided on site.  

Just like the old days, our Luxury Camping season runs from Mid-May through Mid-October each year.

Rental Rates are based on the number of persons in your party and the duration of your stay.
