Butternut Cottage Butternut cottage is our most recently restored heritage cottage, and still retains the charm of our destination resort days! Butternut is located in our “housekeeping cabin” area across our valley from Bailey House, and is adjacent to a magnificent stand of massive ancient oak trees. You are just a short stroll from our lower meadow and stocked fish pond - all within our century old, 60 acre mountain top resort. Butternut is a spacious single story with one- bedroom that accommodates up to four persons. Like our other cottages it has been upgraded with all the modern conveniences, but still retains our classic look and charm - from a simpler time in days long gone by. Butternut has a full bed in the bedroom and a queen sofa-sleeper in the living room across from the fireplace. Amenities includes propane heater, a full kitchen, bathroom with shower, TV-DVD player, stereo, books games and more. The spacious rear deck has a propane BBQ and overlooks the deep old growth forest as it cascades down the canyon below.  Here wildlife abound - and a breeding population of spotted owls can be heard most evenings! Out front there is a large patio-commons area adjacent to our Oak Cottage, which has a screen tent, fire pit, house shoes and more. And for that total getaway experience, there is also no phone ~ TV or cell reception for that matter ~ but we do have free WiFi (limited & as available). Pricing for Butternut is based on the number of persons in your group and the duration of your stay.
